Who is the qualification aimed at?
Recent entrants to the Sector who work or want to work in settings or services whose main purpose is children’s care, learning and development or people undertaking an early years’ apprenticeship programme.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements but learners must be at least 16 years of age.

What does the qualification cover?

As a technical certificate, it covers the underpinning knowledge, values and principles for the National Occupational Standards in Children’s Care Learning and Development at Level 3.

What age range is covered?

Birth to 16 years and their families.

How is Assessed?

One multiple-choice question paper and four assignments.

Are practical placements required?

No.

How long does the qualification take to complete?

300 guided learning hours.

  • CACHE Level 3 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
  • CACHE Level 3 Award in Playwork for Early Years and Child Care Workers.
  • CACHE Level 3 Certificate of Professional Development in Work with Children and Young People.

Which job roles are learners qualified to undertake on completion of this qualification?

Taken on its own this qualification does not qualify learners to practice in the workplace.
